PAX Financial Group has expanded its footprint.
We are pleased to announce the opening of our newest office located in Asheville, North Carolina, which will be run by Advisor Laura Simpson, CFP. Now, investors in North Carolina can also utilize the services of PAX Financial Group in person.
Laura graduated from the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a bachelor’s degree in economics and a concentration in finance and monetary economics. She has spent her professional career working for PAX as well as a large credit union in North Carolina and has experience in lending, insurance, tax preparation, estate planning and investments.
Laura has spent most of her life living in the mountains of North Carolina, though she did move to Texas in 2006 for her husband’s job. The good news: That’s when she found PAX Financial Group.
Laura started with PAX Financial in 2007 and was with us at the beginning. She later moved back to her hometown of Hendersonville and has continued to work for PAX from North Carolina.
Laura, her husband Josh and their two daughters love being outdoors and experiencing the beauty and the four seasons that Western North Carolina brings. She says her hidden talent is “translating a budget into action items for family and friends.”
I am proud to have Laura as part of our team and glad to have her represent PAX Financial Group in North Carolina.

With this new office, PAX Financial Group is now a SmartVestor Pro in Asheville as well as in Texas, an organization that we are very proud of. Operated by finance-great Dave Ramsey, another affiliation I am personally very proud of, a SmartVestor Pro means that PAX Financial Group maintains a high degree of ethical standards to educate and authentically help those in need while following Dave’s financial beliefs. One of the most well-known and trusted speakers on personal finances, Dave believes in investor education and maintaining emergency funds, among other helpful tools. These are two of our top priorities, and something I personally write about here in my blog posts often.
PAX Financial Group has had a great relationship with Dave Ramsey since our company began in 2007. In fact, every year, we collaborate with Dave and his team to discuss topics such as investments, markets and even life. Without a doubt, our relationship with Dave has been influential in changing the lives of families young and old.
One of the reasons I decided to go out on my own and start PAX Financial Group is to help liberate investors from the stress of investing on their own. There is a pretty big segment of people who want to make good investment decisions and set themselves up for an easy, comfortable and enjoyable future but they don’t have the time, access to information or emotional fortitude to make the decisions on their own. We want to help them.
When I was in undergraduate school, I got a job at a bank, and this is where I really developed an interest in money. That interest became a passion and even changed my degree and focus in school. I grew up poor, so I didn’t know what a financial planner was at the time, but after doing my research, I learned that this is what I wanted to do – I wanted to help others reach financial freedom; I wanted to help parents send their children to college, buy a home and create something they are able to leave behind when they are gone. I started in the financial planning business, and after I “cut my teeth” in a big firm for about five years, I decided to go out on my own.
I take pride in helping people and making sure we offer the correct services through the right avenue, and I’m excited to bring these offerings to North Carolina. I’m confident that Laura is the right person to represent us there.
PAX Financial Group offers help with retirement (or what I like to call PIVOTing), paying off debt and creating a plan of attack for individuals to follow so they can reach their own personal goals. We understand that retirement means more than just investments.
I invite experienced, new and potential investors to make an appointment at our new office and see what they think. The office is located at 28 Schenck Parkway, Building 2B, Suite 200, Asheville, North Carolina, 28803. You can also call Laura at (828) 333-5112.
Of course PAX Financial Group also offers services to investors across the globe through our virtual presence. We recently began offering video conferencing services, e-statements and online resources to make it easier for busy investors to connect with us without having to come into the office. Video conferencing allows us to meet with investors (even if husband and wife are in different places) with just the click of a button.
You can also find PAX Financial Group on social media.
Whatever avenue best serves you and wherever it is that you call home, we look forward to working with you. Contact us if you have any questions about our new location.
