David's personal bio
David is the son of Armando and Teresita Alvarez, both of whom immigrated to the US from Cuba as children in 1962. David grew up in San Antonio, attending St. Gregory the Great Catholic School and Antonian College Prep.
Following high school, David went to Northwestern University where he studied Economics and History, played baseball, and met his wife, Meredith. After over a decade spent in New York and Chicago, they moved back to San Antonio in 2012.
David and Meredith have two boys, two dogs, and no idea what they will do if their house is ever quiet.

Community Involvement:Organize blood drives with the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center, stress the importance of early childhood literacy with the San Antonio Public Library Foundation, and advocate for pediatric palliative care in San Antonio with the Gus Owen Stephens Memorial Foundation
