Esther Pipoly has spent more than three decades helping employers, employees, and families navigate the complexities of insurance and employee benefits. She began her career in 1993 with PacifiCare in Commercial Insurance Sales, focusing on community relations and events. Since then, she has worked across nearly every side of the industry, including account management, provider relations, health systems, insurance carriers, self-funded plans, agency consulting, and client relations.
Throughout her career, Esther has developed a broad understanding of how benefits decisions affect both organizations and the people they serve. Her experience includes roles with PCA Health Plans, University Hospital, Humana, GBMB, medical groups, and agencies serving clients throughout the country. She is a Certified Self-Funded Specialist and holds additional certifications in Long-Term Care, DISC, Grief Recovery, and Critical Incident Stress Management.
For Esther, employee benefits are deeply personal. After losing her husband to cancer, she gained a firsthand understanding of how important it is for benefits to work when families need them most. That experience continues to shape how she serves others. She approaches difficult situations with empathy, breaks down complicated information in a way people can understand, and works collaboratively with clients and teammates to find practical solutions. She also believes humor and humility are essential in an industry that remains heavily dependent on human communication, even as technology continues to evolve.
In 2017, Esther founded LOLA, Loss of Life Advocates, to support families during some of life’s most difficult moments. Her daughter now leads the organization, while Esther remains involved and continues to help families when needed. She is also a member of Downtown Rotary and the UTSA Alumni Association.
Outside of work, Esther’s greatest joy comes from her family. She is proud of her children, Nathan and Adyn, her daughter-in-law Katherine, and her grandson, Noah Jude. She especially enjoys cooking with Noah, laughing with her family by the pool, and relaxing with a Ranch Water. At the end of the day, she is happily greeted by her two corgis, Walter and Kona, who bring plenty of personality and joy into her home.
